About Rodneys Transport Services

Established in 1992, Rodneys Transport Service Pty Ltd (RTS) is a locally and privately owned transport company. Our primary depot is located in the major regional centre of Wagga Wagga, in south western NSW supported with a subsidiary depot in the smaller rural community of Griffith – approximately 190kms west of Wagga Wagga.

Over the 14 years since the company’s formation, we have grown and evolved from a small ‘one man’ operation of just 3 trucks with an office staff of 1 on a very large parcel of land to the modern, well-maintained fleet of 40 trucks; approximately 70 trailer configurations; a 24 hour/7day fully automated fuel stop (diesel and petrol); purpose built service and maintenance facility (that includes a full B Double length pit); grain storage capacity of 18,000 tonne; almost 4,000sqm of warehouse storage and staff of around 65 housed on 30acres of land purpose-developed to meet the needs of our expanding company!

Our dedicated staff ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our company with a primary focus on the customer and their needs. Distribution commitments for our valued customers currently extends throughout NSW, Victoria, Queensland and South Australia using trailer equipment ranging from skells (for containers), flat tops, tautliners, bulk and milk tankers, in single and b-double combinations. We have 10 full time staff with the entire responsibility for managing both the Wagga Wagga & Griffith sites, all of whom have extensive experience and/or training that is peculiar to our unique industry.

We maintain fully electronic accounts and administrative functions with access to the Internet, e-mail, electronic banking facilities and performance monitoring for each vehicle. We utilise industry specific computer software to further enhance our company needs that enables the provision of real time tonnage, weight and other customer information.

Over the course of operations our company has introduced a state of the art security access and montoring system that allows employee admission to our premises 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The advantages of this system are two-fold in that it enables ‘24/7’ driver access to our 120 tonne split weighbridge whilst at the same time ensuring security of equipment, loads and stored product – clear advantages for both RTS and our customers. Additionally, our weighbridge is available and open as a public weighbridge – the only such facility within a 300km radius of Wagga Wagga.

Our company approach has resulted in a proven capacity to meet the most demanding criteria associated with quality service provision as well as maintaining competitive pricing and timing of haulage and related activity. We are able to quickly respond to the ever-changing needs of industry and commerce as well as offering a speedy reply to individual customer requirements. The clientele our company enjoys a positive working relationship with ranges from large multi nationals through to the sole trader and overwhelmingly these business relationships have become well established long-term liaisons with whom we do business.
